At every visit

What your therapist brings

Everything arrives in one bag and one folding table, so your home stays as it is.

  • A folding treatment table

For when lying down helps. A sofa, a bed or a chair works too, and we ask first.

  • Resistance bands and light weights

Sized to you, so your first exercises don't need a trip to a store.

  • A balance pad and a gait belt

To steady you while you practice standing and walking, with a hand on you.

  • A blood pressure cuff and pulse monitor

We check how you are before and after the exercises.

  • A tape measure and a stopwatch

To measure how you move, so changes show on paper: steps, reach, time to stand.

  • Large-print exercise sheets

Pictures and plain words, in the order you do them, with room for your questions.

Getting started

From your call to your first visit

  1. Step 1: You call or send a message

Give us your name, your address and who is helping. Please keep health details for the visit.

  2. Step 2: We check what your plan pays

Before we book, we check your benefits and tell you what we find.

  3. Step 3: We book a time that suits the household

A time when you are rested, and when a family member can join if you like.

  4. Step 4: Your therapist visits

The first visit takes about an hour. You and your therapist agree on goals and a plan.

Medicare at home

Medicare Part B and care at home

Medicare Part B can cover outpatient physical therapy at home if you are not getting home health at the same time. You do not need to be homebound for outpatient therapy. The Medicare home health benefit is a different program with its own rules. If a home health agency already visits you, tell us before we book, because the two can't run at the same time.

What to know

  • Your doctor or another provider signs off on your plan of care

  • Part B usually leaves you a share of the cost; a supplement plan may cover it

  • We check your coverage and tell you before we book

Questions

Before you call

Do I need a referral?

In Florida you can start physical therapy without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one, and Medicare asks your doctor or another provider to sign your plan of care. We tell you what applies before the first visit.

Does my plan cover this, and do you take Medicare?

We bill Medicare Part B and many other plan types. Medicare Part B can cover outpatient physical therapy at home if you are not getting home health at the same time. We check your benefits and call you before the first visit.

What do I need to have ready?

A chair with arms, a clear stretch of floor, comfortable clothes and the shoes you wear at home. Tell us if there are pets, so we can plan for them.

Can my family be there?

Yes. You choose who is in the room. A family member who lives far away can join by phone or video.

What if I live in a senior living community?

We visit apartments in senior living communities. We ask the community's front desk about parking and sign-in before the first visit.
