How fees work

What you pay depends on how you pay. Each answer is here in plain words, and the office goes through yours before the first visit.

  • Insurance we work with

We bill many kinds of plans and tell you whether we are in network with yours before you book. The list is by type of plan, not by company.

    • Medicare Part B

    • Medicare Advantage plans

    • Most PPO plans

    • Medicaid managed care plans

    • Auto injury coverage

  • Checking your benefits

Our office checks your benefits and calls you with what they find, before the first visit. Your plan has the final say on what it pays. Your copay, deductible and coinsurance are set by your plan.

  • An estimate in advance

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a written Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost before you start. We give you one before the first visit. If the final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.

  • What the first visit includes

Your first visit is about an hour with a physical therapist at your home. They listen, examine you, explain what they find and agree on a plan with you. They also explain the risks and the choices.

Questions about paying

Does Medicare cover physical therapy at home?

Medicare Part B can cover outpatient physical therapy at home if you are not getting home health at the same time. If a home health agency already visits you under a plan of care, tell us before we book. Medicare asks a doctor or another provider to sign off on your plan of care, and your share of the cost is set by your Medicare coverage.

What if I already get home health visits?

Medicare's home health benefit is a separate program. Therapy from a home health agency and outpatient therapy from us can't be billed for the same period, so we check with you and your agency first.

Is there a charge for travel?

Some addresses outside our counties carry a travel fee; we tell you before we book.

Do you work with a supplement or Advantage plan?

We bill many of them, and we check yours by name before the first visit. A Medicare supplement plan may cover the share Part B leaves.
