Training for caregivers
If you help a parent or spouse move around, you can learn how to do it with less strain on both of you. Your therapist shows you in your own home, on your own chairs and steps, and watches you try it before they leave.
This training is for you if
You help someone stand, walk, climb stairs or get in a car
Your back or shoulders ache after helping
You are worried about what to do if they fall
You live far away and want to understand the plan

What a visit looks like
Hands-on practice
You try each move with your therapist beside you, until it feels safe for both of you.
Getting up after a fall
How to check, when to call 911 and how to help someone up when it is safe to do so.
Joining from far away
An adult child in another city can join a visit by phone or video and get the same plan.
