Strength and walking
Getting stronger starts with the movements you do every day: standing from a chair, climbing steps, carrying a bag in from the car. Your therapist builds a short program around them with bands and light weights, so you can do it in your own living room.
This care is for you if
Standing up from a chair or the sofa takes effort
You walk less than you used to, or tire sooner
You use a cane or walker and want to need it less, or use it better
You want to keep walking with friends or grandchildren

What a visit looks like
What we measure
How long it takes to stand five times, how far you walk, how your legs and hips move. We measure again later so you can see the change.
What you practice
A few exercises with a band or a chair, in the order you will do them, on a large-print sheet.
What you do between visits
A short routine you can do at the kitchen counter, a few days a week, as your therapist suggests.
Questions about this care
Do I need special equipment?
No. We bring bands and light weights, and your therapist shows you what you can use at home instead.
I use a walker. Can I still do this?
Yes. Your therapist plans around the walker and may work on using it better.
